Students will become familiar with the aesthetic and symbolic landscape of African and African-Brazilian artistic expressions. Furthermore, this subject will discuss the diversity that formed the Brazilian People, through the shock of distinct civilizations, generating processes of subordination anchored in cultural hierarchies. In this context, interculturalism emerges as an alternative to these culturally oppressive processes of ethnical matrices in the artistic dimension.
